The CourseDelta helper extension

The helper has one job: when you click Fetch new data & compare in CourseDelta, it reads Hochschulkompass search result pages in your own Chrome and hands them to the CourseDelta page. If your browser cannot load the uni-assist course index directly, the helper fetches that too.

• It runs only on CourseDelta pages and only fetches pages on www.hochschulkompass.de and mya-backend.uni-assist.de, and only when the CourseDelta page asks it to.
• It passes those public pages only to the CourseDelta page open in your browser, which reads the degree programmes out of them. The helper itself sends nothing anywhere else.
• Chrome sends your cookies for those two sites with these requests, as it does when you visit them. The helper does not read them or send them anywhere else.
• It does not read other websites, your other tabs or your browsing history. It stores nothing, and it has no analytics, advertising or tracking.

The CourseDelta app

• Shared data on the CourseDelta server: the degree programme lists read from uni-assist and Hochschulkompass, the comparisons run and when, and a log of fetch runs are saved on the CourseDelta server, so everyone with an account sees the same data. This is public course information; it contains no personal data. The last 20 fetches and 30 comparisons are kept; older ones are deleted automatically.
• Account: the app is protected by a user name and password set up by the administrator. The server keeps a hash of the password (never the password itself); your browser remembers your sign-in until you close it.
• Server logs: the web server logs requests (including IP addresses and user names) to keep the service running; logs are rotated and only the most recent ones are kept.
• Fonts: pages load the Montserrat, Open Sans and IBM Plex Mono fonts from Google Fonts, so your browser contacts Google when it loads them.

We don't sell or share this data, use it for advertising, or use it for anything other than running CourseDelta.
